“I hate Monday!” is the common phrase that often you hear during Sunday evening to Monday morning.

Most people do not like Monday as it means many things, such as you have to deal with the traffic when commuting to the workplace, you might do not like your job, coworkers, or bosses, or you have other reasons.

However, in the time of crisis, go to work on Monday morning is one thing that needs to be grateful.

At least there are three reasons why do we need to be thankful for our daily work.

Firstly, Monday morning routine when we are going to work shows that we are alive.

In the time of crisis, because of Coronavirus, to be able to work is a precious gift. It means you are healthy and maybe not infected by the virus.

It also means you can fulfil the needs of your family. Working right now is not only benefiting you, but your family also can continue their life.

Secondly, activities on Monday morning show that you have a job.

Did you know that currently there is an increase in the unemployment rate?

In Indonesia, the unemployment increases by 3,7 million people (July 2020).

Looking at that unemployment and impact of COVID19 pandemic towards the economic sector, then it is essential to have a job in such a circumstance.

Maybe you did not like your job, your friends, and your bosses, but at this moment those are things that can support you and your family.

Do not burn the bridge. This phrase means you have to cultivate your job no matter how uncomfortable it is.

Then, it also means you have to go to work on Monday morning, even though it might be difficult.

Thirdly, Monday morning routine shows the importance of work and life balance.

Before the pandemic, we pursue a balance between working life and family time.

At this time, however, the pandemic causes the other way around when we have to cultivate the balance between family and working time.

After too long working from home, perhaps you started to get bored with all of the drama between your children, with Korean drama in your phone, or tv series on Netflix.

Then going to work might become your way out for such boredom.

It also can act as an exercise for your brain and mind to use your knowledge, expertise, and skills.

By going to work, you have to utilise those abilities of your bodies and souls.

Just keep in mind, though, that when going to work on weekdays, then you need to comply with the health protocols.

By knowing those three reasons, hopefully, you and I would love our job no matter what and enjoy the routine during Monday morning.
